Christ in the World Group
The group had an informative meeting on 6th September. Our thanks to John Dowling from Campaign Against the arms trade who showed us the destruction of life and waste of resources that takes place due to the arms trade. He has promised to inform us of any specific campaigns we could as a parish become involved in. The next meeting of the group will be Friday 11th October at 7.00 pm , Pay Day Loans and Consumer Credit.
Needing a hospital chaplain to make a visit?
The chaplains in hospitals can only visit a patient if it is brought to their attention. They cannot look at patient’s records to discover if you are a Catholic. If you have a relative or friend in Wansbeck Hospital please contact the Catholic chaplain, Irene Harwood, at the hospital on 01670 521212 or via Fr Stephen Watson on 01670 812200. If your relative or friend is in another hospital in the region please let me know and I will contact the respective chaplain for you.
Church Cleaning
We are low on Church cleaners, any volunteers would be most appreciated.
Churches Together Advent Service
My thanks to all those who expressed an interest in this about a dozen parishioners including some of our recently confirmed young parishioners. The next meeting to plan the service will be after Mass on Sunday 6th October. If you have not expressed an interest in being involved but would like to be please let me know and I will give you the notes and copies of possible readings that we may use.

Choppington Parish Council
On Sunday 6th October at 4.00 pm there will be a commissioning service for the members of Choppington Parish Council at Holy Family Anglican Church, Stakeford. The church leaders in the area are delighted that the council would like to have their work recognised within the context of Christian faith. So I would recommend all parishioners living within the boundaries of their parish council to attend.
