All Saints
This weekend we celebrate the great feast of All Saints.  We give thanks to the many men and women across the ages and across the world who inspire us by their faith and love.  We celebrate how God’s grace can bear fruit in our lives.

All Souls
November is the month we particularly remember those in our communities and families who have died.  For this year there will be a book of remembrance on the offertory table.  Please feel free to put in the book names of loved ones you would like to be remembered during the Masses in November.  At every Mass in November the book of remembrance will be brought up with the gifts of bread of wine and placed on the altar for the remainder of the Mass.

There will be a Mass on  Monday morning at 10.00 am for the intentions of All Souls.  The annual commemoration Mass for those who have died in the parish over the last  year will be on Friday 14th November at 7.00 pm.

Remembrance Sunday
Next weekend, Sunday 9th November,  there will be the annual Remembrance Sunday march and service for Bedlington.  The march off from the Salvation Army will be at 2.15 pm with the service commencing at 2.30 pm. I would encourage as many parishioners as possible to take part in this event.

HOST is looking for kind, friendly, hospitable people who are inspired by the idea of welcoming an international student at university here, far from his or her own family, to their home. This could be for a day, a weekend or Christmas, and you don’t need to live near a university, as students will travel for the privilege of meeting you, learning about real life in this country, and sharing their own culture. HOST is a voluntary activity which makes ambassadors for international goodwill of us all. Please see www.hostuk.org or call  HOST Office on 0207 739 6292.   Thank you.

Day of Reflection for Forward Together in Hope

Bishop Seamus is keen to ensure that the ‘Forward Together in Hope ‘ process is rooted in prayer. On 2nd December  at 10.30am to 12 noon and 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm, both  Laity and Clergy have opportunities  to listen to a 30 minute presentation by Bishop Seamus followed by an hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I would encourage people to attend  either of these events if they can.
