Journey of Faith Programme
The Journey of Faith Programme continues Wednesday at 6.30 pm in the Presbytery.   The topic is “God and the story of people”.

Our Schools; St Bede’s Primary and St Benet Biscop High School
It is a time of change in our schools. On December 1st St. Benet’s along with St Paul’s First School and St Peter’s Middle School in Cramlington will form the Pax Christi Multi-Academy Trust (PCMAT). This should not affect the day to day life of the school but it is hoped that as an Academy the Head Teachers and Board of Directors of PCMAT will have more autonomy is deciding what is best for the schools. At this stage St Bede’s Primary school is not joining PCMAT, although it is hoped that it will be able to do so in the not so distant future.

The Governing body have decided that the time is right for St Bede’s to no longer have an executive head-teachers .  Last Thursday, the governing body appointed Mr Damian Groark as the substantive head-teacher for St Bede’s Primary school on a fixed-term contract. Mr Groark will come to St Bede’s with over 13 years of experience of being a successful head teacher of two catholic primary schools in County Durham. Mr Groark will take up his post in mid-November.

As parish priest I am aware and very grateful to the hard work and commitment Mr Todd and Mrs Penny have given as Executive Heads when they have also had responsibility for being head teachers of their respective schools. I have written to Mr Groark promising prayers and best wishes and that the parish will wish to work closely with the school as closely as possible.. Please keep all the members of the families St Bede’s and PCMAT in your prayers at this time of change

Christ in the World Group
The next meeting will be on Friday  7th November.. We will show the film ‘Of Gods and Men’ and then have a brief discussion about the film. The film relates the full story of Seven Trappist Monks who lived and were martyred in Algeria in 1994. It is very powerful yet beautiful film.
Synod for Marriage and Family.
During October we pray for the Synod that will be taking place this month on marriage and family.  The Synod will be our parish intention during Exposition  on a Friday morning.

Appeal for a Cleaner
I have been approached by a family  in the parish to ask for someone to work three hours a week to do some light cleaning work . If you think you would be interested please contact me.
