Feast of Ss Peter and Paul
Today we remember the two great foundation stones of the early church Ss Peter and Paul. With St Peter we celebrate the significance of the role of the church in carrying on the work of Christ. With St Paul we celebrate the great missionary zeal that we are called to have in proclaiming the Gospel.
Second Collection
There will be a second collection today for the feast of Ss Peter and Paul. Please use your white envelopes from your box.
A Warm Welcome to Fr Tony Rattigan who will be presiding at our vigil Mass this weekend. I am attending the diamond jubilee celebrations of the University Catholic Chaplaincy in Newcastle.

This Sunday we will have the final First Holy Communion liturgy for our First Holy Communion children. The theme is “Sending Forth”. We continue to pray for the children and their families
First Holy Communion 2015/16
Having consulted the school and the parish council I have come to the decision that First Holy Communion programme will take place for children of Year 4 and not Year 3 as has been the current practice. This means that there will not be a formal First Holy Communion in the parish next year, although if there art any children in Years 4 or above who have yet to make their First Holy Communion I would still like them to contact me. The next First Holy Communion will begin in September 2015 with First Holy Communions being in June 2016.
Parish Finances
At Masses this weekend a representative of the parish finance committee will give a brief presentation at the end of Mass of the parish accounts for 2013/2014. Members of the finance committee will be available for any queries you may have.
Youth Mission to St Benet’s
The next event in preparation for this will be on Sunday 13th July at 1.00 pm at St Paul First school in Alnwick. It will start with a picnic, hopefully outdoors, to be followed by designing and making banners based on the words of the Mission Prayer. If people need lifts to this event please let me know. All are welcome.
The mission prayer continues to be said at the end of weekend Masses -if I remember!
Centenary of World War I
To commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of World War 1, St Paul’s, Cramlington is to hold a Prayer and Praise Service on Sunday 27th July at 3.00 pm. The service will consist of suitable hymns, intercessions, prayers and poetry. You are cordially invited by St Paul’s to attend..

Parish Barbecue
The parish barbecue will be next Saturday 5th July from 7.30 pm. Tickets are available from members of the social committee. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children. I would encourage as many of you as possible to take part . I appreciate that we are dependent on British weather but previous parish barbecues have been seen to be as an enjoyable success.
Reflective Prayer at St Bede’s School
St Bede’s would like to offer a warm welcome to any parishioners who may want to join the school in their weekly reflective prayer on a Monday morning at 9.00 am in the school hall. This time allows all participants the opportunity to begin the week with a spiritually uplifting reflection on the weekly readings. The whole school community use it as their spiritual focus for the week.
