Feast of the Presentation
Since this feast occurs on a Sunday it takes precedence over the Fourth Sunday of the Year . Today’s feast was known as Candlemas Day because Simeon proclaims Christ as the Light of the World. We pray that all those who are experiencing darkness in any form may know Christ’s Light of love, hope and joy.
Baptism
Today we welcome Chloe Jones into God’s family in baptism during 10.00 am Mass. We are asked to pray for Chloe, her family, and all preparing for baptism.

This Sunday we will also have the Rite of Election for our First Holy Communion candidates. This is an important step along their preparation for First Holy Communion.

YMT Mission at St Benet Biscop’s
I am informed that the meeting on 24rd January was very fruitful with our young parishioners making a very positive contribution. There are two more events planned for young people to be involved with the preparation for the mission, they will be on 9th March at 3.00 pm and 20th March at 7.00 pm. If any other young people would like to be involved they will be very welcome.

As mentioned in previous weeks the way we prepare and celebrate the sacrament of baptism in the parish is going to be radically different. Please see information sheet about this in the Narthex.
