Day of Reflection for Forward Together in Hope
Bishop Seamus is keen to ensure that the ‘Forward Together in Hope ‘ process is rooted in prayer. On 2nd December  at 10.30am to 12 noon and 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm, both  Laity and Clergy have opportunities  to listen to a 30 minute presentation by Bishop Seamus followed by an hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I would encourage people to attend  either of these events if they can.    Today we have a pastoral letter from the Bishop  about this process

Parish Fayre
This to take place next Saturday, 1.00 to 4.00 pm.  Donations for tombola, the raffle and cake stalls  will be appreciated.  I am delighted that this is being brought back into the life of the parish and I am very grateful to all those who are organising this event.  I would encourage you and your friends and family to take part in this to visit the fayre.

Remembrance Book
The Remembrance Book will still be available at the offertory table at the back of church for people to add any names of loved ones who have died.  The  Remembrance Book will be brought to the altar at the offertory.

Journey of Faith Programme
The Journey of Faith Programme continues on Wednesday at 6.30 pm in the Presbytery.   We now have three enquirers.  Please continue to pray for them.

Youth Sunday  -  Christ the King
Next weekend on the feast of Christ the King which is Youth Sunday  I hope to have some of our young people participating in the Masses and sharing with us the youth mission that will be taking place in the school in December.

The annual retiring collection for Catholic Youth will be taken next week.  Envelopes are provided for your donations in the Narthex.

Congratulations to John Cotman and Ann Miller who were married on Wednesday.  John and Ann would like to pass on their thanks for the support and best wishes the parish has given to them.

New Head teacher at St Bede’s
Last Monday Mr Groark, the new headteacher at St Bede’s, took up his new appointment.  I have written to Mr Groark with our best wishes and promising him that the parish will pray and support him and the school at this important time. Please keep Mr Groark and the school in your prayers.

A Day for Advent

We will spend time reflecting on the words of Isaiah, the prophet of hope, who proclaimed the coming of the promised Messiah.  St Aidan’s RC Church, Green Lane, Holy Island on Saturday 29th November 11.15 am to 4.00 pm.  Refreshments provided, please bring a packed lunch.  Further details on poster in Narthex.

The facilitator is David Wells of Plymouth Diocese, who is a well known gifted speaker.  There is no charge for the day, but please book:  01207 592244, email: admin@ymt.org  All are welcome, (adults and young people  15+)  Further details on poster in Narthex.

Ecumenical Advent Carol Service

This year the event will be hosted by the Salvation Army.  It will take place on Sunday 30th November at 4.00 pm.  We hosted this event last year, and the Pentecost event, and there was a great deal of support from other churches.  I think it is very important that as a community we reciprocate the support that has been given to us.

Request for rosaries

I have a request from the Catenians who are sending rosaries to various parts of the third world.  Please let me have any spare rosaries you would like to donate for this project.
