  Education Sunday
Today is Education Sunday. This is an opportunity for us to remember and pray for all those involved in our Catholic schools. A second collection will be taken, which can be gift aided.

Journey of Faith
Tuesday evening at 7.00 pm, exploring the sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation, eucharist)

Parish Council   meeting tomorrow (Monday) 6.30 for 7.00 pm. If there is anything you wish to be discussed at that meeting please contact me.

St Bede’s First School
Years 1 and 4 will join us for Mass on Wednesday at 10.00 am.

Newly Decorated Hall
I’d like to offer my thanks to Peter Fowler for the decoration work he has done on the hall. I believe the colour is called Crushed Raspberry!  Whatever you think of the name it’s certainly has a positive effect on the hall.

Open House
At a meeting of the volunteers on Tuesday, it was agreed that the group establish a separate bank account, separate to the parish.   The Open House project will still be very much part of the parish life and mission but this will enable the project to apply for funds from trusts and charitable bodies to help fund its way.  In March we hope to have Ian Lavery MP come to an event organised by Open House to  celebrate its being six months old.  I will give you more details when I have them.

Exposition on the first Sunday of the Month
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be this Sunday from 4.00 to 5.00 pm.  It is a very simple and quiet time of prayer and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.   I would encourage you to take part for some or all of that hour.  I see it as a time to pray for our parish community.

CAFOD
There is some great news from CAFOD, they have been told that any money donated for the whole of Lent and some of Easter will be matched by the government. I will be saying more during Lent encouraging you to take advantage of this significant source of funding for CAFOD.

Weeks of Guided Prayer
The list is now closed and thirteen parishioners wish to take part and across the Churches together the total will be around 25 to 30 so there should be a strong sense of community for these weeks of guided prayer. If you’d still like to take part please see me as soon as possible.
Collections:
· £522 has been banked for Mill Hill
· £68.32 has been sent to SPUC for the White Flower appeal.
