Rite of Election

This Sunday the two people who hope to be received into the Church at the Easter Vigil will take part in the Rite of Election at St Mary’s Cathedral, Newcastle.  This marks a special time of preparation for them before they are received into the church, so could I ask you to please pray for Elsie Wake and Bianca Bellizzi at this important time for them.

CAFOD

Family Fast Day is Friday 2nd March, envelopes will be available this Sunday.  Two parishioners Jackie and Tino Manai who have just opened Tino’s Deli on Bedlington Front street have kindly offered to run a coffee morning from the cafe from 11.00 am to 12 noon on Friday2nd March.  All proceeds raised during that time will be given to CAFOD.

I am delighted to say Ann Marie Hanlon, Cafod’s regional representative, will be present and she will give a brief presentation about CAFOD’s  work.  My thanks to Tino and Jackie for their generous offer and I hope as many people in the parish can take part in this event.  Please remember that for every pound given to CAFOD from 17th February to 17th May will be matched by the government.
