Reflections from the Prayer and Worship Group
This group discussed as to how the positive spirit and creativity that came from the mission could be developed in the months ahead. It was decided that the Lenten Penitential Service which will he on Sunday March 17th could be an opportunity to have a creative and thoughtful reflection on God’s offer of forgiveness and the reconciliation won for us by Christ, with an opportunity for individual confession afterwards. If anyone would like to be involved in this there will be a meeting on Saturday February 9th from 10.00 am to 12 noon

Poverty Action Week
This week is Poverty Action Week where two ecumenical Christian organisations, Housing Justice and Church Action on Poverty seek to highlight the experiences and needs of the homeless and those who experience poverty in some way or other. This Sunday our church will be hosting a regional event on behalf of Church Action Poverty North East at 4.00 pm. Various people will be sharing about the experiences of the poor. The local MP Ian Lavery will also be present and speak at this event.
Preaching at Wesleyan Church
I would like to express my thanks to the members of the Wesleyan Reform Church at Guide Post for their very warm welcome they gave me last Sunday. I was touched by their sincerity of faith and love of God. It is a reminder that the Spirit is present in other churches. Please continue to pray for Christian Unity.

Student Cross Appeal
This will be an appeal with a difference. They do not want your money but they want your legs on the road for Holy Week! I In two weeks time we will have at least one member of the Pilgrimage making an appeal Even if you don’t feel called to walk with a big wooden cross during Holy Week it is an opportunity to reflect on what you want from this Lent.
