Journey of Faith

The journey of faith continues on  Wednesday at 7.00 pm.  All are welcome.

Christ in the World group

The next meeting will be on Friday 22nd November at 7.00 pm.  For the topic please see following item in the bulletin.

Extraordinary Synod on Family Life

As I’ve mentioned in previous bulletins recently  there is going to be an extraordinary synod on family life.  Preparations have already begun for this.  The Bishop is collating information for the Synod.  The Bishops of England and Wales have put out a questionnaire for people to express their views about family life.  You can fill this questionnaire online on the following website:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FamilySynod2014   -

or there are hard copies available in the Narthex. I think it is wonderful that everyone in the church is being given the opportunity to express their views on family life which is something that effects us all.  It would be a great pity if this opportunity for people to express their views was only taken up by a small number of people.  Therefore, I would strongly encourage people to fill in this questionnaire so that the views and experiences of good people like yourself can be expressed and listened to.

Clergy Training Fund

The fund remains open for a few weeks for any private or family donations.

Churches Together Advent Service  -  1st December

The next meting and rehearsal for the Advent service will be Sunday 10th November after Mass.   If you would like to be involved in this service please come to this meeting.

Ecumenical Choir

This choir  performs for Churches Together.  They will be singing at the Advent carol service.  If you would like to be a member of this choir, the first rehearsal on Tuesday 12th November at 7.15 pm at Trinity Church.  All are welcome.

Volunteers to bring elderly to Church

It has been brought to my attention that some parishioners would like to come to church if transport was available.  If you think you could offer a lift on a Sunday morning please contact me.

Remembrance Sunday

Next Sunday 10th November is Remembrance Sunday.  The parade will start from the Salvation Army at 2.15 pm with the service at the Market Square at 2.30 pm.

Parish Ceilidh

The social committee are now selling tickets for the December parish ceilidh.  It will take place on Saturday 7th December at 7.30 pm  Tickets are £5. Since the last ceilidh was cancelled due to lack of interest I know that the social committee is keen for this one to be a great success.  Since this is the only social gathering we have as a parish around the Advent and Christmas period I would encourage as many of you as possible to take part.  The ceilidh group have given us a very generous discount since they like playing for us.

Parish Records

If you are new to the parish and have not filled in a form with your contact details please collect and fill in the form in the narthex, thanks

Christmas Hospitality for Students

Could you make the world a friendlier place by offering an invitation to an international student at a UK university, for just a day, a weekend, or three  days at Christmas? Young adults from many countries would love to have a homely break and discover the real life of this country. HOST is a well-established charity which takes care in linking students with volunteer hosts: www.hostuk.org or call Graeme Davies 01661 834449.

CAFOD’S Worlds Gifts

If you are already scratching your head as to what to give people for their Christmas present in the Narthex there is a number of catalogues for their world gifts scheme where you can buy a variety of gifts on behalf of a relative or friend, from beehives to chickens, to goats, for those who need these precious gifts to sustain their lives.
