Christ is risen alleluia, alleluia

I would like to wish you and all your families all the joy, hope and wonder of Easter as we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ.  I hope the Holy Week liturgies were a source of grace and blessing for you all. Just as the Risen Christ transformed his early followers, may you too experience a sense of renewal and transformation in meeting the Risen Lord.  I hope you and your families enjoy your Easter celebrations.

I would also like to take this opportunities to thank  all those who have contributed to Holy Week in the great variety of ministries and tasks that are required.  I do value people’s hard work, commitment,  and generosity.  It is much appreciated.

Reception, Baptisms and Confirmations

There are a number of people who will be receiving sacraments of Initiation this weekend.  At the Easter vigil I will receive into the Church Jon Warwick and I will also be baptising Jon’s wife Sarah, their two sons Ben and Joseph, and Jamie Bellizzi and Harrison Bellizzi. Jon, Sarah, Jamie and Harrison will also receive the sacrament of confirmation and welcomed to the Lord’s table to receive holy communion for the first time.  I would like to pass on my heartfelt congratulations to them all.  It has been a delight to get to know them on the journey of faith programme and I hope and pray that they will feel very much a part of this community that they will fully join this weekend.  I know that they are very appreciative of the prayers and support that has been shown to them by the parish.  Please continue to support them.

At the Mass for Easter Sunday morning we will celebrate the baptism’s of Alice Burton-Allen and Jack Vardy.  Our prayers and best wishes to them and their families.

Next weekend, as part of our new baptismal programme, we will be celebrating the baptisms of Amelia Grace Russell, Kaitlin Parr on Saturday, and on Sunday we will baptise Elsa Riley, Jack Gittings, Samuel Emlyn Owen and William James Owen.  Our prayers to them and their families as well.
