Holy Week
We begin Holy Week with today’s feast of Palm Sunday. We will start Mass in the hall with the blessing of palms and the account of Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem. This is the most important week in the Church’s year where we are called to be with Christ as He goes through the paschal mystery of his death and resurrection. The Easter Triduum liturgies are an opportunity to encounter Christ as we relive His death and resurrection.
I hope that we will make every effort as is possible to be present at the Triduum liturgies for this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I also hope you will get some opportunity for quiet and reflection to contemplate on these events.
At the Easter vigil we will receive into Full Communion of the Church John Warwick and we will baptise his wife Sarah, their children Joseph and Ben and brother and sister Jamie and Harrison Bellizzi. It has been a great privilege to be with them on their journey into the Church and it is with great joy we welcome them into our faith community. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. I know that they have been very appreciative of the support and encouragement they have received from the parish.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank John O’Neill for his work in leading the journey of faith programme. I would also like to offer my thanks to Barbara Fowler, Anne Mitchell, and Pamela Wright who have been faithful participants to the journey of faith programme and who will be sponsoring our new members.
