Welcome
I am conscious at this time of year of visitors to the parish who are on holiday. If you are visiting us you are very welcome. We hope you are having a pleasant time visiting the area. Tea and coffee is served after 10.00 am on Sunday morning in the parish hall. You will be very welcome to join us there.
Day of Recollection
The autumn day of recollection will be on Saturday 4th October leaving at 9.15 am returning at 5.00 pm. The theme of the day will be Creation and Spirituality. This day is the feast day of St Francis and we will share in the liturgical celebrations of the community at 12 noon. Please sign the sheet in the Narthex if you would like to take part in this day.
CAFOD at St Bede’s
I am delighted to announce the we now have two parishioners who are willing to be CAFOD representatives. My thanks to Sandi Anstee and Anne Mitchell for their willingness to take on this role. There are a number of emergency appeals that CAFOD are sadly having to raise at the moment including for Iraq, Syria and Gaza. The next main CAFOD event in the family fast day on Friday October 3rd
Parish Council
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Monday September 8th at 7.00pm. Please contact me or any other member of the Council if you want any item to be discussed. I would like to express my thanks to Laura Johnston who has served on the council for the past two yeas representing the young people in the parish and St Benet’s High School. My thanks to Lidia Barrass who has kindly accepted to take up this role
Journey of Faith Programme
The Journey of Faith Programme will resume on Wednesday September 24th . This year the sessions will be from 6.60-7.30pm. They will take place in the presbytery.

Youth Mission
We continue to say the youth prayer at the end of Mass. Copies of the prayer are in the Narthex.
Racial Justice
There will be a second collection will be next weekend to support the work of the Catholic Association for Racial Justice. Please use the white envelope from your box. It will also be a day of special prayer for Racial Justice.
Day of Recollection for Special Ministers
A Day of Recollection is being held for all Eucharistic Ministers in the Deanery on Saturday September 20th from 10.30am to 3.00pm at St Aidan R.C. Church, Ashington. The day will be lead by the Diocesan Coordinator for Spiritual Formation Kathryn Turner. Please confirm you attendance by contacting St Aidan on 01670 812200
Deanery Mass For Healing
There will be a deanery Mass for Healing at St Pauls Church, Percy Street, Alnwick on Wednesday 17th September, at 7.00 pm with anointing of the sick of laying on of hands. There will be Exposition of the blessed sacrament with an opportunity of reconciliation before hand from 6.00 pm.
Exploring Personal Prayer
Please see notice board for a course in exploring our prayer lives that is taking place on weekly basis at St Antony’s Priory, Durham from October 2nd to 13th November.

Refugee & Asylum Seekers
There will be a collection today for tins of food (not pork) for refugee and asylum seekers. Please leave in Narthex. Next collection first Sunday of the month.
