· all who have died recently,
· Fred Devine and all whose anniversaries occur at this time.
Today is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea.  Without them we would not have most of the items we buy in the shops.  Today’s retiring collection is for the Apostleship of the Sea (AOS), the Church’s official maritime welfare agency.  It supports seafarers both practically and spiritually.  This annual collection is absolutely vital to enable it to continue its work, so please give generously and remember seafarers in your prayers.  Envelopes are available in the Narthex for those wishing to gift aid their donation.
At the 10.00 am Mass the children of St Bede’s school will lead us in our readings, prayers and music.  It should be a joyful and uplifting occasion.
Changes in the Parish
There will be an extraordinary meeting of the parish on Thursday 30th July at 6.30 pm.  The Episcopal Vicar Fr Stephen Watson and the Dean Fr Ian Hoskins will address the parish regarding the changes that will take place. It is very important that as many of you are at this meeting. I am not in a position to inform you about what will be announced. I think it is very important that we remind ourselves of what we have been trying to do as a parish and work together to live out the key parish practices that are needed for this parish to be maintained and flourish. Please take a copy of the summary of what I wrote five years ago as a reminder of the “blueprint” we have been working with and I hope it will continue to guide you in the weeks and months ahead.
Moving Forward Together in Hope  -  MFTH
On the notice board and on the Narthex table there are copies of the next steps of the process over the coming months
My thanks to all who contributed to the Mass of anointing and commissioning of our sick and housebound.  My thanks also to the mini-vinnies from St Bede’s who helped in the Mass..
The MFTH is very relevant for the parish at this time since the key focus is how can our parishes be maintained and flourishing communities.  This is a very key question when the parish will be sharing a priest with St Robert’s.
After 10.00 am Mass today I would like to invite all the young people, pupils from both St Bede’s and St Benet’s to meet to look at the questions for young people that are in the questionnaire.

The 24 Hour prayer vigil will take place on October 3rd/4. Please see sheet with list of roles that will be needed and possible content for the 24 hours. Please support members of the Prayer and Worship group as they will lead you in preparing you for this event

Parish Council
Minutes of the last meeting are on the notice board and copies are available from the Narthex.  The parish council will meet on 13th July at 7.00 pm, not as a formal meeting but to help Tony Hart complete the first part of the MFTH questionnaire.
Leavers Mass for St Bede’s
On Wednesday 15th July at 10.00 am in the church we will have the leaver’s Mass for Year 6 pupils from the school.  It will also be the last Mass for the full school before staff and pupils have their well deserved summer break. It will be my opportunity to express my thanks and best wishes to staff and pupils of St Bede’s.
Mass at St Benet’s
I will be saying Mass in the chapel at St Benet’s on Thursday 16th July at 12.30 pm.  It will be my opportunity to express my thanks and best wishes to staff and pupils of St Benet’s.  Parishioners are welcome to this Mass.
There will be a Carmelites meeting next Sunday at 2.00 pm.  All are welcome.
