Christ is Risen, Alleluia
I would like to wish you, and your families, all the joy, hope and peace of Easter. May the power and glory of the Risen Lord be experienced by you and your loved ones.
I would like to express my thanks to all who in some way contributed to the celebration of the Holy Week liturgies. It was very much a team effort and there is no way I could have done it by myself! So, a big thank you to you all.
If we are looking for an image of Easter the events in Burma, where there does appear to be the first signs of democracy, are a symbol of Easter faith. Where there has been darkness there is some light. Obviously, we pray for all those for whom the joy of Easter may not seem appropriate at the present time; all those who are sick, those without hope, and all places of violence and unrest. We pray that somehow all these people will experience something of Easter joy and wonder in their own personal darkness.
During Lent, we were asked to wear purple ribbons as a witness to our faith. Now that Easter is here it would seem appropriate that this should also be marked, so once you have received communion at Easter there will be an opportunity for you to take a white ribbon for you to wear.
Christ in the World The group will be meeting on Friday 3th April, at 7.00 pm. The topic for discussion is: The role of women in the Church.
The Weeks of Guided Prayer The weeks of Guided Prayer came to an end on Thursday. About 27 people took part with a dozen from the parish. The Spirituality group will be meeting in April to discuss how to move forward the spiritual life of the parish in the light of this experience. My sincere thanks to all who took part, especially the members of North East Prayer Guides
