Penitential Dates for your diary There are several dates giving us the opportunity for us all to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation in preparation for Christmas:
· Wednesday 12th December - St Paul’s, Cramlington, 7.00 pm
· Sunday 16th December - St Bede’s, Bedlington, 4.00 pm
· Tuesday 18th December - St Wilfrid’s, Blyth, 7.00 pm
· Sunday 23rd December - St Aidan’s, Ashington, 4.00 pm.
St Bede’s Primary and St Benet’s High School At a special meeting of the governors of St Benet’s and the interim executive board of St Bede’s, on Monday evening it was agreed that the schools will become federated from 1st February 2013. The schools are still two distinct entities with separate funding but now there is one set of governors for both schools. The advantage of this is to allow for greater cooperation and more flexibility with staff. This proposal has the full support of the diocese and the local education authority.
Parish Ceilidh There will be a parish ceilidh at the end of the mission week on Saturday 8th December from 7.30 pm. Tickets from social committee members at £5.
RCIA - Journey of Faith continues on Thursday evening at 6.00 pm. John O’Neill will continue his exploration of Mark’s Gospel. If you would like to know more about the scriptures I would recommend these sessions.
Refugees & Asylum Seekers There will be a collection next weekend for tins of food and meat (not pork). Please leave your donations in the Narthex. Further donations on the first Sunday of the month.
Ecumenical Advent Service Churches Together will be celebrating a special Advent service on Sunday 2nd December 4.30 pm at St Cuthbert’s Church, Church Lane, Bedlington.
